Halloween Tag

I saw this image on takeabreak's flickr photostream ~ I loved it and knew I wanted to use it in one of my Halloween projects.  I ended up making this tag.

Sweet Six Studio

I have been wanting to post about Sweet Six Studio for a while now.  Many of you know what this is and have joined, but in case you don't know, it's an on-line art retreat hosted by six incredibly talented women ~ Holly Abston, Natasha Burns, Cheryl Dack, Jennifer Hayslip, Heather Kowalski and Analise Sledd.

I don't know if it's still possible, but if it is, I can't tell you enough how worth it, it is to join.  Not only are the projects gorgeous, but the tutorials are so well written with detailed photos and explanations.  In between the projects, they post about all kinds of different topics, decorating tips etc., all with beautiful photos ~ lots of fun!

There is also a flickr group set up where members can post pictures of their work.  It's really great to see all of the different interpretations of each project ~ and really wonderful to see how supportive everyone is in the group!   

I know they won't toot their own horn, so I wanted to.

Lastly, I really just want to thank them for all of their time, effort and for an incredible month so far.  You have all outdone yourselves!

I don't know about you, but a Halloween Party Vanessa style, is one I just couldn't miss.  If you haven't been to one of her parties, I hope you'll visit her, you won't be disappointed.  If you have been to one of her parties, I'm sure I'll see you there!

Halloween Wand

A couple of posts below I showed a wand I made for a swap.  I kept thinking while I was making it that it would be fun to make another, but with a Halloween theme ~ so I did.

 

Little Witches Coven

I picked up this lantern a while back and recently ran across it in my stash ~ thought it would be perfect for a Halloween project.  So I started playing.  There is a different little witch sitting in each of the six windows surrounding the lantern.

So...I FINALLY did it...I listed my first Etsy item!

Magic Wand Swap - Part II

Here's a few photos of the wand I made for Terisa in Gen's Magic Wand Swap.  Those of you who know Terisa, know that her favorite color is red!  And I found out while doing this swap with her, that she really likes it paired with black and white.  Well, these aren't the colors I usually work with, so it was hard to get going at first, but then I had a great time.  And, I ended up making something I never would have, if I were working with my usual colors.  I love that.

 

 

I also love how with swaps, you take just a theme ~ such as "Magic Wand", and you end up getting to see how all of these wonderfully creative minds interpret it, and make something so unique and different from each other.  The wand I received from Terisa is a perfect example.  Check out the post below!

Magic Wand Swap - Part I

One of the swaps I'm in is just wrapping up ~ Bella Enchanted's Magic Wand Swap.  I just received my package from my partner, Terisa of Sabii Wabii.  I can not believe what she created ~ what a wildly creative imagination she has.  Not to mention, SHE CAN SEW!  Those of you who know me well, know that I can't sew, not even a stitch.  So you can imagine how impressed I am with this beauty.

I tried so hard to get a photo of the detail of everything, but I just don't think you can capture it all sometimes...but just look at this...

Thank you so much Terisa, I love every single stitch of it, you are incredible!

I need to run and make a phone call before it gets too late, but I'll be back a little later to post pictures of the wand I made for Terisa!
