Some of you have asked about, and some of you have probably noticed, the note on my sidebar that says my etsy site is coming soon. Okay, maybe soon wasn't the right word to have on there. :) I have had so much fun just getting to know people, doing swaps etc., that I wasn't focused at all on etsy, but I'm getting focused (I'm trying to get focused)!
Anyway, I have decided I should get it together and start listing things, so that's what I plan to do starting in August.
Thought I'd show you something I just finished that I will be listing.
The strand of pearls are fresh water pearls, and I've used mica flakes on the ruffles of her dress. I started with glitter, but the mica looked a little more earthy and I thought suited this better (but still has that sparkle).
I've also been asked what type of things I will be putting on etsy, and I don't really have a plan (there's that focus thing), but it will probably be a little bit of everything. There are so many different mediums I like to work in, so it will probably be a bit eclectic is my guess.
I saw these two paintings on the outside wall of a liquor store, and had to snap a few photos. I'm sure they were beautiful when they were newly painted, but there's something about the cracks and the peeling, chippy paint that I love!
Little Pink Studio is hosting a Show and Tell Sunday featuring vintage paper. I haven't participated in one of these before, but yesterday I just happened to pick up some beautiful old French sheet music, postcards, letters, ledgers, etc., so I thought I would join in and share some photos.
I fell in love with this sheet music.
Beautiful old letters and ledgers.
And some beautiful postcards ~ I love the backs as much as I love the front.
Using the random number generator, the winners have been picked for the giveaway I had at the Mad Tea Party on Saturday. These are the three items they have to choose from. The first person I picked gets first choice, the second person, second choice and the third person receives the remaining giveaway. As soon as everyone decides, I will list the winners!
The first is this canvas collage:
I was playing around in Photoshop, just to give you an idea of how it would look with a quote added. If you like it, I can send along some cut out letters that are similar.
The next giveaway is this journal...the inner pages are lined, and it has a satin ribbon bookmark:
The last item is this paper mache question mark that I've shabbied and distressed. I have always loved this quote. I haven't attached the words yet in case the winner prefers it without. Edited: Kristin wanted the quote on, so I've shown the finished question mark!
